All of your favourite Android sites (including this one! )

are coming together as one in an effort to launch the Android Network Awards.  It’s our way of bringing attention to all the great apps that help make Android the awesome platform it is.

This is more than just about the red carpet, awards and the glamour.  The Awards will hopefully give new users a good idea of what the community thinks are the best applications that they need to be downloading.

It works like this – We’ll help assemble the lists of the top apps,  in their respective categories with about 4-7 apps in each,  and then turn around and give it off to the public vote.

Hopefully winners should be announced sometime in August.

Top 25 categories are announced with up to 5 entries picked by the committee. Public nominations begin for any apps missed.

27 July 2009
Announce the official 5-7 entries for each of the 25 categories. Create polls and share embed codes.

3 August 2009
Final Voting begins across all network sites.

10 August 2009
Announce Android Network Awards Winners!
