The Times newspaper has reported that Tmobile is in talks with Apple about selling the Iphone 3G in the UK.

If this policy is presumably applied worldwide by Apple, then it could prove to be a disaster for Android’s burgeoning growth as one of the key selling points was that anyone could sell an Android phone.

The Tmobile deal is quite restrictive as it doesn’t include the recently released faster Iphone 3GS.  It could come to fruition as early as 4 weeks time (around end of August) which could rain on HTC’s launch party for the Hero.

Android’s next development version labeled Donut adds many of the features that are already included on the Iphone’s recent 3.0 release.  Having  a potentially cheaper, widely available Iphone will hopefully make Google step up development and release of the next iteration of Android sooner rather than later.
