Camera Zoom: Developer Interview
As a part of my interest in applications and developers for the platform, I will be running what I hope will be a regular interview with a developer talking about an exciting new application, developing applications for the android platform or the possibilities that the mobile market presents.
To coincide with the Android Network Awards, I have had a quick question and answer session with the Camera Zoom developer, AndroidSlide.
AndroidSlide, what inspired you to make the app?
Originally there was a similar app on iphone which offered digital
zoom. I knew this was something android users wanted so that inspired
the original release. Following the launch I received very positive
feedback and from that point onwards, I focused on making Camera ZOOM
easy, fun, innovative – basically I wanted to make the best camera app
that I could based on what users were asking for.
Where its going? What features you love to add
Camera ZOOM will continue to add more features to reward our growing
user base. Many of these will be direct responses to user requests but
we also have many surprise features on their way too!
What has the public reaction been?
Fantastic – we now have the highest rated camera on Android so the
feedback has been very welcome and has generated ideas for future
updates.
What’s your favorite app on the market
I love twitter so for me probably twitterride. But I have to mention
PicSay as this app was built in a time before the market and yet it
still looks and performs fantastically.
What app do you wish you had made?
Probably Abduction as its great game design and keeps people coming
back for more. Props to a fellow British developer too!
What other apps are you looking to make?
We have at least two more apps in the pipeline. They are about 70% and
50% complete, but the great response to Camera ZOOM means there will
be lots more cool features coming for Camera ZOOM soon!
Are you entering any new apps for the Android Developer Challenge 2?
Yes I do have another app which I’m preparing for the ADC2 but I will write more about it later on.
Thanks Androidslide, and for those of you looking to find out more check out our Camera Zoom Application Showcase or download Camera ZOOM from the Marketplace.
