Android CRC37 update coming! Not donut yet!

Submitted by on August 18, 2009 – 7:08 pm3 Comments

I was jumping around the room earlier today, hoping that donut had finally been released after seeing the system update message- sad to say this wasn’t to be.

Looks like my phone was just updated up to CRC37. It looks like its only another security update coming in as I can’t see any functionality difference just yet.

One word of caution……my phone was having some issues starting up after the update which sent me into full panic mode. It was shutting itself off after the android boot screen and restarting showing the G1 logo.
To fix this just make sure you plug your phone into your charger /usb before restarting and it will wake up fine.

hey recieved RC37 2 days ago and ever since phone has been slow and very unresponsive loading up apps and general stuff like making phone calls and when heading back to home screen the screen seems to bug out and i get a double of my background.

    anyone else experienced this?

It seems to be fine for me. I would suspect that you may need to unistall some apps and try to add them back in. Check out app manager(new free app from market that let’s you back up your apps to the sdcard)
Let me know if you still have probs.

I’m finding that since I accepted the CRC37 OTA update which T-Mobile pushed out to my G1 a few days ago, my battery is draining much, much more quickly (with no change in my settings or usage pattern).

I tried to report this to T-Mobile (after all, if one is told about the unintended consequences of a software update by an actual user, one can think “Oh dear” and set about fixing them in a future update, right?), but the call centre drone refused to even countenance the idea that T-Mobile had sent any kind of firmware update! End of story!

Is anyone else having a battery issue with this build?
