Looks like all rumours of  a delay or cancellation to ADC 2 are gone- Google has announced that the Android Developer Challenge is now officially open for submission.

The rules are:

1. Apps need to be submitted by 11:59:59pm Pacific Time in the United States on August 31, 2009
2. Only one version of your app allowed
3. Cannot submit anything which breaches the Competition Content Policy

With some real powerhouse applications in the running this year like Layar and Linkedin, I forsee competition being tough.

For the first time anyone with an android phone will be able to vote for their favourite app, so look our soon for the Android Market judging app coming soon to a phone near you!
