Samsung Galaxy waiting for bugfix?
I have been checking with local O2 stores weekly and it seems that the release of the Samsung Galaxy has now been pushed back to either next week or mid September depending on which person I speak to.
What is the reason for the delay? Apparently numerous German and French users have been reporting that the phone:
- Flickers
- Randomly reboots
- Crashes frequently
- Poor battery life ( a serious no no since the G1 came out!)
Any production phone should 100% be free from the above faults
and I am glad that O2 in the UK have taken the step of delaying the phone until its good and ready.
For those that want to find out more about some of the issues just take a look at the Androidiani.com Galaxy bug forums (via Google translate)
In other news, the Galaxy’s big brother- the Samsung InstintQ appears to be on its way to us. Similar to the Galaxy, however having the advantage of offering a full qwerty slide out keyboard. I will be keeping tabs on this one as it looks like the best candidate for replacing my increasingly dated G1.
