Just had a great icon pop up when browsing the android market whilst training back from work.
Looks like the first version of facebook for android is now official!
Features include:

• Access to the wall
• Notifications
• Events
• Custom ring tone for notifications

Sadly missing is the inbox and messaging but I am sure that it is in the pipeline and it won’t be long before the android feature list matches that of the recently released facebook 3.0 for iphone.

A cool bonus feature is that users can shake their phone to force a refresh of the news.
Ladies and gentlemen go get it from the android market right now!

….. and don’t look down on the fat bloke sitting next to you shaking his phone madly.. he’s just wanting to stay up to date with his pokes for the day.

Edit:  the Facebook page for the app indicates that it was not developed by facebook- I hope this is just an oversight!
