Also, is it possible to simply copy the update file directly onto the SD card? My pc isn't recognizing my G1, so I wanna simply format the card, and copy the file straight onto it via card reader on the pc. Would that give me any problems???

Hi, I just got a G1 in Nigeria. I'm not sure if it's a UK or a US model. Should I try it out anyways?? And if i try out this update, will my G1 get locked up again?

Thanks for the tutorial. I haven't tried it yet but i have some questions regarding this.
1. Is this suitable for the 32A version of the HTC Magic (vodafone) ?
2. In case this doesn't work , for example if i get installation aborted bla bla, will i get the 1.5 back working like nothing happened ? (excepting the loss of personal data)

Thank you for your time and please excuse my english as i am not a native speaker :)

Hiya,

i was just wondering would this work for someone in Australia locked to the 3 network ? I have a HTC Magic, firmware 1.5. I'm pretty new at all of this stuff so forgive me if it's a stupid question also but what is the CRB number people are talking about ? I can't seem to find any number like that in my phone settings.

Thanks!
