Hi Andriod UK
I read and did what was ask to upgrade my HTC Magic. I downloaded the magic 1.6. It was ziped. I remaned update to update.zip and followed your instractions. But, when i came to instole the update.zip it doesnt want to it gives me a errer or cant find file. So I did it agen. renaming it to UPDATE – still doesnt want to work. And then I coped it into DCIM still nothing. Please help.

Hi,
I have CRC1 (cupcake) now an if i want to upgrade to CRC37.
I download the file i needed ( signed-kila_eu-CRC37-from-CRC1.404fe17f.zip) I named it update and i went to recovery.
It downloads like a charm untill… It says Faliure at line 2 (and other stuff)
Please help?

Hey im from australia and i need to reset the firmware cuz it wont let me get past the google mail sign in becuz it wont connect to the service. I did it all but when i click apply sdcard:update.zip it goes
“finding updatepackage….
opening update package….
verifying update package…
E:no signature (294 files)
E: verification failed
Installation aborted.”
do you know what i could to do fix this?

Ok i managed to fix it all i needed to do was put in the voadfone APN and everything worked

Also, is it possible to simply copy the update file directly onto the SD card? My pc isn’t recognizing my G1, so I wanna simply format the card,and copy the file straight onto it via card reader on the pc. Would that give me any problems???

Hi, I just got a G1 in Nigeria. I’m not sure if it’s a UK or a US model. Should I try it out anyways?? And if i try out this update, will my G1 get locked up again?

Thanks for the tutorial. I haven’t tried it yet but i have some questions regarding this.
1. Is this suitable for the 32A version of the HTC Magic (vodafone) ?
2. In case this doesn’t work , for example if i get installation aborted bla bla, will i get the 1.5 back working like nothing happened ? (excepting the loss of personal data)
