Around the country, fellow androidites will be celebrating when they wake up tomorrow morning for the single best reason to own an iphone has successfully debuted on the android platform. Finally Paper toss is droid enabled!

For those of you which haven’t heard of it, papertoss is one of the most successful iphone games that has been released to date and has regularly been a fixture at the top of the top 10 lists for the fruit phone. Based on a very simple premise of trying to get a scrunched up piece of paper into a waste paper bin with only a cheap fan to foil your attempts, this game is the definition of simplicity. Strangely, this game is engaging and almost hypnotic as you swallow up the hours trying to best your previous score- whilst waiting for that satisfying “thunk” as your paper ball hits its target.

In terms of cross platform differences, when I tested the app on the Motorola Milestone, it functioned amazingly well however at first impression, the iphone resolution graphics seemed to look quite basic. In terms of functionality, it seemed to perform just as well as on the iphone although it seemed to not have quite the same responsiveness.  Hopefully the guys and gals at backflip studios will release a few updates to the app and hopefully even a graphically richer version that will take advantage of the newer android phones superior hardware and display resolutions.

Overall this app is a great addition to the market and one that will no doubt storm up the charts as it storms down your productivity levels. Absolute classic game, in all seriousness, go download it now!
