Android Media phones top the chart

Online retailer Expansys have released their latest top 5 selling Smartphones and is the first evidence of the next major trend for smartphones the advent of the Media phone.  

Media phones are the next evolution of the smartphone market as they allow owners to not only download and view their music, video and picture content on their mobiles with much larger or clearer screens, they are also coming equipped with HDMI ports to allow them to share their content with other devices.

Some of the devices like the Acer Stream allow extra features such as allowing you to use your phone as a remote for your television and even allow sharing of video wirelessly to you television, Xbox or PS3.

A second trend is that despite the great onscreen keyboards that most android phones have, there is still a demand for a hardware keyboard as the Motorola Milestone and Mini Sony X10 pro are both showing strong sales.

Expansys, which is traditionally the go to place for early adopters, is a good indication of what demand is going to do in the market in the future. Clearly the Samsung Galaxy and its super-duper Amoled screen  is also still up there as the weapon of choice for those who like to stay at the cutting edge of the market.

The XT720 also comes with a HDMI Port so you can watch films on your HD TV.

3) Samsung Galaxy S -A powerhouse of a phone, with a 1GHz processor with 3D acceleration that lets the Galaxy S play 3D games that rival the Xbox and the latest Bluetooth 3.0 which lets you send huge files in seconds. Add in HD video recording and playback (even wirelessly to your TV) and the latest version of Google’s Android OS enhanced by Samsung which outputs everything to a Super AMOLED screen that looks gorgeous, in any light. Free on Pay Monthly or £439.99 without a monthly plan. 5) Motorola Milestone – the UK version of the iconic Motorola droid in the USA . The Milestone features a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus, dual LED flash and image stabilizer. It takes decent photos and videos and it will gave the  latest version of Android supporting improved camera software within the next month or two.. The Milestone has a great media player and a useful 3.5mm audio jack to support standard headphones.
