Archos to Android its Media Player
We have Android on Mobile phones, digital photo frames, navigation devices, netbooks and now we can look forward to seeing Android on your friendly media player. Although to call an Archos a media player is about as wholly understated as calling your Lamborghini “a car”- it is world more than that.
Archos have taken their devices way beyond the Ipod and incorporated Web browsing, Div-x video playing, TV show recording and internet browsing to a whole new level of portability in the form of an “Internet Media Tablet”.
According to Slashgear, Archos are tipped to bring in a new sub £250 media device in q3, with some of the following goodies to look forward to:
- Flash
- Div- X playback
- TV show playback
- up to 700gb Hard disk
All they have to do is bolt in multitouch and a Tom Tom and we are on to a sure-fire hit.
From its accounts report it looks as though they may be even going into the phone business with Android, so an Archos Media phone will be quite an interesting opportunity, especially if its in an iphone-esque form factor.
